Matthew Loveland, L.C.S.W.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Background Experience

Matt's education experience includes a Bachelor of Music from the University of Utah.  He later received a Masters degree in Social Work, also from the University of Utah.  For this degree he specialized in the areas of developmental disabilities and psychiatric issues such as depression and anxiety.

His practical experience began in graduate school with an internship with Salt Lake County Aging Services and Davis Behavioral Health.  Each of these settings provided him the opportunity to gain experience using a variety of counseling techniques with a diverse population.  This diverse population included both ethnic and minority populations.  Over the years he has enjoyed working with people with disabilities in a variety of settings such as group homes, apartment programs, workshops, and supported employment.

Most recently he worked as a therapist and the Director of Social Services at Benchmark Hospital.  In this setting he gained years of clinical experience working with adolescent males with complex treatment needs.  His clinical experience also includes working part-time as a mental health crisis worker and teaching at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Utah.
